What stands out
Middleton’s 2023 results are among the cleanest in our Treasure Valley guides: no detected lead, PFAS or disinfection byproducts, and nitrate at 1 ppm against a 10 ppm limit. The main thing the city report doesn’t cover is hardness, which drives most of what homeowners notice day to day (spotting, scale and soap that won’t rinse). A tap test tells you whether a softener makes sense.

IDWR counted 5,343 documented domestic wells across Canyon County (2019, cited in a Boise State/IDWR uranium study). Well water isn’t covered by city testing. Southwest District Health serves Canyon County; see how to test your water and our well water guide.
